The three-mile hike to the top of Mount Chiquita was one of our favorite hikes ever. We enjoyed awe-inspiring 360-degree mountain views nearly the entire hike.

For lunch we found a terrific spot on a ledge about 30 feet below the east rim of Mount Chiquita. We had a great view of Chiquita Lake and were sheltered from the strong, chilly winds at the summit. A storm raged off in the distance the entire time, inching closer throughout lunch but never hitting us.
Mills Lake is arguably the prettiest lake in Rocky Mountain NP. Mills Lake sits in a wide U-shaped valley carved over time by multiple glaciers.
Longs Peak (center) and Mount Meeker (left) are the first and second-highest mountains in Rocky Mountain NP.
