Bear Lake is the most popular lake in Rocky Mountain NP because of its beautiful views and easy accessibility.

Hallett Peak (on the right) is a 1.7 billion-year-old block of rock carved away by glaciers, giving it a unique boxy shape.
Longs Peak is Everywhere
Timm enjoys the view of Long’s Peak as it looms over Bear Lake and all of Rocky Mountain NP. A self-guided nature trail circles the lake and provides spectacular views all around.

Even the Parking Lot is Gorgeous

One of the reasons Bear Lake is so popular is because it is easily accessible. A large parking lot sits at the end of Bear Lake Road, and you only have to walk a few hundred feet from the lot to reach the edge of Bear Lake. When we first arrived, low clouds lingered over Hallett Peak, setting up a dramatic view from the parking lot.
